    Selma Düzenli, MD, PhD

    Selma Düzenli, MD, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Medical Genetics and the Director of
    a private Genetic Diseases Evaluation Center in Istanbul. She completed her medical degree at Atatürk University Faculty of Medicine and after she earned her PhD in Medical Biology and Genetics she served at Abant İzzet Baysal University for more than a decade, where she held positions ranging from Assistant Professor to Associate Professor and contributed extensively to patient clinics, research, teaching, and academic leadership.

    Throughout her academic career, she has focused on medical genetics, pharmacogenetics, neurogenetics, and rare diseases, with a particular emphasis on Alström syndrome.

    Mike Kirby has been a volunteer with ASI since 2013, and currently fills the role of secretary on the Board of Directors. Mike received his bachelor’s degree in communication from Georgia State University and moved to Maine in 2000, managing Internet marketing communications for The Jackson Laboratory before joining the University of Maine (UMaine) in 2014, where he is the Director of Digital Communications. In 2022 he received his masters in business administration through the Maine Business School at UMaine.
