Robin Marshall
Grant Manager, Board Member, Executive Director Emeritus
Robin has been with ASI since it began! Robin is currently the Grant Manager at Alström Syndrome International. He is also the former Executive Director of ASI. He was a certified teacher of both Language Arts and Social Studies for 27 years and taught for 22 of them at a nationally recognized secondary school. I was also the Owner and Executive Producer of the Deck House Restaurant and Cabaret Theater, a summer seasonal enterprise, for thirty-four years. While serving as a partner in JRM Consulting, I have advised on the importance of and the logistics of integrating the arts into planned communities and counseled numerous non-profits on various matters. I have served officially as Executive Director of ASI since 2000 and have played a key role in the planning and execution of many regional, national, and international meetings on Alström Syndrome. I am privileged to be a co-author or acknowledged contributor on numerous scientific papers or articles on Alström Syndrome, and I have served as a pro-bono editor on many more, including The Alström Syndrome Handbook – a guide to understanding,
managing, and treating Alström Syndrome. I was married to Jan D. Marshall, acknowledged globally as a leading expert on Alstrom Syndrome, for forty-six years until her untimely death in 2016. I found that since joining her in the battle to treat and cure Alström Syndrome that our relationship, indeed life in general, became more purposeful and meaningful.
